How the zones are defined
- Six-yard box: within about six metres of the goal line and inside the posts.
- Penalty area: the rest of the eighteen-yard box.
- Edge of the box: from the edge of the area out to roughly twenty-seven metres.
- Long range: everything struck from further out.
Shot locations, not player movement: this is where the ball was struck from, not where anybody ran. Every shot of the season is counted once.
